(100 questions about THERAVADA buddhism)

Didier Treutenaere | September 2017

One hundred questions (and even more answers) about Theravada Buddhism, the flourishing religion of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The book

One hundred questions (and even more answers) about Theravada Buddhism, the flourishing religion of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The reader, particularly the traveller or expatriate resident, wishing to learn about the oldest of the Buddhist traditions in more detail, will find in this book, in simple form, answers to those most frequently asked
questions - the Buddha and his teachings, the monastic life, the practices of the faithful, meditation techniques, the monuments and festivals, not forgetting the current social and political implications of Theravada Buddhism.

The author

Didier Treutenaere graduated in philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris and has specialised in the study of Buddhist texts and the Pali language of Theravada Buddhism (somewhat akin to Latin in the Roman Catholic religion). He lives in Thailand where he continues to write and to translate works devoted to the Theravada tradition.
